The company "Hengelsport Geers was founded in 1958 by Mr. Eugen Geers. It was an small company in fishingtackle equipment, however de groundbait then was one of the major selling products.
In the year 1976 the company was taken by Mr Luc and Mrs Rita Geers, they exploided the groundbait more.
In the year 1988 de worldchampionship was organised in the "Damse Vaart " near Brugge ( Belgium ). Great successes were made by several well known anglers with the groundbait of the company Geers. This was such an succes that export was neccesary.
Because of this major succes and more selling groundbait, there was a need to have more space to make more en better groundbait. There for an new place was looking for and found in a industrypark called "De Blauwe Toren "in Brugge, where the company has still his factory and headquarters.
